Over the last two years we have spawned coins for those who would like to play the game at a slower pace instead of purchasing coins.
Based on the feedback some of you provided us we have been working behind the scenes to offer a easier way to provide new content
without all the hassle of visiting the game without any suitable reward over and over again.
Starting July we will be adding more free to date characters, which will not require coins. With this we will be discontinuing respawnable
coins starting the 1st of August. If you are still exploring the games to unlock that one special character you've been saving for, make
sure to get the needed amount of coins before the respawnable coins are discontinued.

Respawnable coins will be live. At the start of each week a coin drop will appear in game! The locations will be randomized, but will always be in the open.
The ‘Backstage Pass’ item for early backers will now be enabled!

It’s been an exciting week here for the FBC team, with the game going live for closed beta on Sunday, and fully open on Wednesday. We want to again thank everyone who has stuck with us through the process of development, and hope that all of you enjoy what we’ve put together.
As with most indie game launches, there were a few hiccups, some issues with the server, a few bugs in the email system preventing logins, but we are pleased to say that these have been addressed. Due to the second bug, some of you may have not received the original email with your invitation to the game. If this is the case, please go to www.furrybeachclub.com, launch the game, and use the password reset option via ‘member login’ with your registered email.
Some of you expressed concerns over the need to give address information to purchase coins. This is a security feature of the payment processor, which we are legally required to request for tax purposes on our end. Your information is not distributed or used by us in any way.
The future of coins is another question many of you had--specifically free coins. As mentioned in some of the promotional material, free coins are going to be implemented. The feature was not yet stable in time for launch. We have plans for respawning coins in-game, coins earnable through participation in live-streams, as well as other promotions and prizes. The respawning coins will be the first update implemented in the game, and should be arriving soon!
Should you encounter any issues attempting to access or play the game, please open a helpdesk ticket with us via [email protected]. We have a dedicated technical support personnel who will do their best to address the issue as soon as possible.
We have many ideas for new content to come, so we hope you will stay tuned for further updates!

Currently our To Do List is close to done with just three more things in progress: The Background NPC's, Mapping Assets and Animation.
Due to performance issues our programmer has fully rewritten all the clientside code which caused the CPU Meter to drop with about 40% on our test station allowing devices to run the game more smoothly.
Starting the 4th of September the newsletter option on our website will become unavailable. Anyone who has signed up for the newsletter before this date, including those who have preordered and donated, will gain first access to the game during the third/fourth week of September.
Furry Beach Club will launch in Invite only mode in which means that only those who have signed up for the newsletter, preordered or donated will get invitation access.
Once the necessary upgrades are done to our servers we will switch to public mode in which anyone can play the game, even without signing up for an FBC Account.
While the core development of Furry Beach Club is complete, we'd love to expand the game with more content. Based on your support we hope to:
- Upgrade our servers;
- Add the ability to earn some coins with in game, site activity;
- Add characters, area's and interactivity on a regular bases;
- Publish a reworked website which allows voting on future characters;

Coin system and update!

A few of you have been asking about the coin system in game, and how it exactly it works, so here’s a short breakdown.
Designing, scripting, voicing, drawing and animating scenes of a character takes approx two weeks full time. To compensate this, the game will utilize a coin system which will help our team cover expenses and allow them to spend more time on Furry Beach Club.
Coins is the currency in the game which can be obtained by:
- Purchasing coin bundles;
- In game activities (free);
- Participating in bonus user events (free);
- Social media initiatives (free);
All characters will be free to have conversations with, but most will require coins to access some of their content. We prefered this over things such as a monthly subscriptions, because we believe that once you pay for something you should have the ability to keep it and replay it whenever you like! Once a character’s content is unlocked, you receive their phone number so you may summon him/her whenever you want.
Thanks to the wide network of artists and animators, coins allow us to further expand and increase the amount of content based on user contributions. Once we hit certain goals we will definitely hire more artists and animators to be able to bring you more delicious content!
In other news, we are still looking for more voice actress applications for upcoming roles. The Alpha build is completed and the Beta is being built as we speak! As the build is still alpha, it is not yet ready for public release at this time, but it’s getting there! Once we have a stable beta, you can expect to see a lot more of the game. Unfortunately we can’t give an ETA at this time due to the issues described in our previous journal.
Along with that announcement, we will soon be closing the pre-order bonuses on March 31st. Now is your last chance at this content, which won’t be available post launch! Be sure to check out our website for full details.

Project Update

Happy 2016 from the FBC team! We have a lot to talk about, so fasten your seatbelts!
First off, the current state of the project, and things that have progressed since the last update.
The frontend of the game client is complete, as well as the net framework for user accounts, along with the lion’s share of the remaining back-end code. The majority of the game’s starting areas have been completed, and the remainder of the outstanding ones have been sketched up, ready for the final touches. Gotta say, the resort is looking great! We’ve even had a few characters start moving in over the weekend, with more waiting on a few additional preparations before coming to join the fun!
We’re looking to have everyone here waiting for you by March--and they’re looking forward to seeing YOU there as well! Especially Kim. We’ve even had some of the voicework completed. Theo’s is set and ready, and Garret’s is coming soon. We’re still looking for a suitable voice for Kim, as well as some of our planned upcoming characters, so if you know anyone who might be interested, please send them our way!
On a related note, a few words on what’s to come next, and what we’re currently working on.
There’s still some back-end code that needs buttoning up and completion, such as for conversations, inventory, map and exploration, and the support for the all-important animated sequences. Asset wise, we have several animations to complete, the remainder of the game areas to finish, mood and overworld sprites to colour, as well as character dialogue to script, record, and program in. It’s a lot to prepare, and we’re all working hard and as fast as we can to get through it.
This brings us to our final issue to address.
Many of you, understandably so, have expressed concerns over the continued delays of the FBC project, particularly given the existence of our pre-order content. In the interest of transparency, we’ve elected to share the numbers with you guys so you have a better idea of what’s going on backstage, and some of the challenges we’ve been struggling with.
Up until the end of December FBC has had the support of a private investor, who has put in approximately $14000 US towards the project. This has allowed our artist and programmer to cover living expenses and work full time, speeding up the project by at least two years compared to having everyone working on it part time. Compare, a similar project such as the game ‘Cave Story’, which took one person five years of development part time.
Now, we are still aiming for our target of a March release. However, as things currently stand, our investor does not have the budget to continue the previous level of support through to launch. Without this, our programmer and artist will need to start working part time again in order to cover living expenses. Does this mean the project will shut down? Of course not, but, in this scenario, it will take significantly longer to release due to two key members having less time for project related work.
We’re aware that this is looking much like a plea for support without compensation, and we understand the concerns that have been raised over the lack of returns on the project so far. Please understand that we are doing everything we can to make good on what we’ve promised. A great amount of time and effort has been poured into this project so far, with more yet to come, and we have every intention of making sure the payoff is worth it in the end.
With that in mind, we hope you will consider looking into our pre-orders, or a donation option for those who’d like to support us further, as we could really use the assistance in pushing this project through to completion as fast as possible. We’ve recently been able to include a paypal method of support, thanks to our investor.

Every little bit helps, and the longer our artist and programmer are able to work full time, the better our chances of hitting our planned launch window. Our end goal is to provide a quality product which not only meets your expectations, but blows them out of the water! We hope you’ll stick with us until then. We hope the fall season finds you well, and that any inclement weather is soothed by thoughts of warm beaches and tropical destinations. Our own little island paradise is shaping up, though right now it’s a bit difficult to tell with all the construction debris lying abo—no, the pool does not go there, that’s my office!
Ahem…
Jokes aside, unfortunately, we are going to need to delay the launch of the project longer than previously anticipated. It turns out that prime beachfront property is more difficult to acquire than we expected. There are many expressions in the English language which relate to patience: good things come to those who wait, etc. Of course, we recognize that this doesn’t do much for those of you who will be disappointed by this news, BUT, please keep in mind that we are a small team working on a large project, and we are aiming to deliver big. Our new expected launch date is March 1st 2016.
For those of you who have purchased (or are planning to purchase) pre-order content, first off, THANK YOU! Your support goes a long way towards helping us achieve our goal. Second, fear not: the delay will not affect your purchases. The tier 1 wallpaper will be emailed out on purchase and the coins will be added to your game account. Finally, on a less positive note, we unfortunately will need to push our release date back a bit, due to some unexpected delays in production, and to ensure we deliver the best quality product we can!
