Sims 4 Gaming Computers Cc
- Hello.
If your computer can't handle a lot of cc /mods, try just to keep the cc /mods that you particularly like having in the game. Some of the cc that you had may have been broken and that was causing the crashing issue.
Sometimes cc becomes broken and doesn't work with the game.
When downloading cc, try adding just a few items to your mods folder at a time and see how your game is going. Then you will be able to find and remove cc that are causing issues quicker and easier.

- edited April 2016@rosemow I just have one question, Why does it make a laptop slow?
Hello.
It depends on the computer details of the laptop that you use, whether it causes your game to lag. It depends on your processor, the amount of memory that your computer has and the type of graphics card.
Cc and mods put extra strain on the computer.
If you are having issues with lagging in your game, try lowering your graphics settings.
Also try switching back to 32 bit mode and see if that helps.
Right click on The Sims 4 tile in Origin.
Select “Game Properties”
Change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 32-bit”

Hello,
With your computer having 4 gb of ram, it may be best to switch back to 32 bit mode and see if it helps with the running of your game. Many simmers who have 64 bit computers have found that they have needed to switch back to 32 bit mode for playing the game to help the running of the game. Also lowering the graphics settings can help.

My Showcase thread https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/948861/rosemow-s-rooms-showcase - i'll try that out and tell you what happens! @rosemow1
- I also play with a laptop (Macbook Pro 2010) and I play on low-med settings. My laptop can handle about 300 pieces of cc before getting laggy so that may be helpful for you. I really recommend adding cc in batches as rosemow suggested, as there are many corrupted cc items that can ruin your game. When I place a bad piece of cc, I can immediately tell because my game either doesn't load or takes way too long to long. So I simply go to recently added cc, pluck them from my game, and my game starting working normally again.
- I really want to get a lot of CC on my Sims 4 Game! I have only 7 CC items in my game at the moment because a while ago i downloaded like 1 GB and it made my game crash or lag badly! My specs are not top quality!
You don't need a top quality system to run the sims at a reasonable rate, and if you can run the base at a normal rate then you should be able to add at least a few hundred megs of custom content safely. Can i still get CC without crashing or lagging?
Of course you can run content without crashing the game, however the amount of lag and frame loss is dependent of the capacity of your processing and memory components. The size of 'communication lines' between components and overall capacity are very critical with games such as the sims since the content of game packages which are the equivalent to giant zip files full of multimedia must be read into memory and processed in real time.
The Sims 4 is designed to be conservative and it's safe to assume that if you can load the game with one household fully customized, then you can load it with all households customized since only the active household and characters who are visiting them require system memory. The memory requirement does not increase simply because you've downloaded another 2GB of outfits, however the extra package data will affect your neighborhood load times. The problem arises when novice content creators use object references or parameters which conflict with those of the objects which are published by the developers. You'll begin to notice wrong textures, distortion of objects, the appearance of objects in odd locations, or random malfunctions of the graphic interface, and the only way to locate those conflicts is to test everything. Why does CC cause crashing and lagging?
CC and Script Mods cause crashing and lagging for the following reasons (simplified):- Script and tuning mods override configuration files and objects which are specific to the current version of the game. When the game is updated, any functions or configuration data which is overridden by the mods will cause internal failures which may not necessarily crash the game but will cause halting and resetting, improper routing or animation, internal script errors and freezing, inability to utilize menu options, corruption of neighborhood data, or inability to load your neighborhood.
- Scripts which were created by novice modders who don't know best practices for data processing or event scheduling may cause excessive use of your processor when data is retrieved or the game is waiting for event triggers due to the frequency or size of requests.
- Mods which override world data or add custom event scheduling may cause excessive processing while the neighborhood is loaded.
- For every custom texture you add (outfits, hair, replacement grass, floor tiles, wall paint, etc) the size of the texture is multiplied in video memory by the number of repetitions wherever the texture is applied and visible.
- Custom packages add to the list of data files which must be loaded by the game while preparing your neighborhood for Live Mode. With hundreds or thousands of custom content packages, or huge packages which contain hundreds or thousands of small files, your central processor must read all of the package indexes and unpack the files into system memory.
- Processors which cannot process the package data at a rate which is appropriate for recommended video cards such as low frequency dual core processors which can only support low frequency dual channel memory will load packages slowly.
- Memory which is poorly timed or cannot be read at the rate which is demanded by your processor will cause delays when reading packages or processing object lists.
- Motherboards which do not support the interfaces which are capable of achieving the required data rates will bottleneck at every interface.
- Video cards with low frequency memory or small memory buses won't handle high resolution meshes and textures even if you have a large amount of graphic memory.
- Script or tuning mods which add custom destinations or set custom values which are not compatible with the base tuning will cause corruption of your neighborhood data after conversion - your save data is 'converted' to a new format with every functional update to support new parameters and extensions of household data.
- The Sims 4 runs very close to the limit of 32-bit memory addressing with expansions, even without custom content, so you should expect that if you're running the 32-bit version with any amount of custom content that your game will crash during load without any report. If you have at least 6GB of RAM then you should always run the 64-bit version.
- It's possible to replace nearly anything by overriding internal identifiers since The Sims 4 is designed to be fully modular for easy deployment and it's easy for modders to accidentally create conflicts with new objects or internal components which have no relevance to what they had intended to create since they can't predict usage of namespaces or object identifiers accurately. You'll see many examples of this in the AHQ archive.
These are the most common causes and it's easy to prevent loss of data and enjoyment by preparing yourself for data recovery and workarounds. Thanks!
You're entirely welcome. - That was so helpful!!! Bless your souls @Sasquatch_01 and @ohthedrama0

Thank you! just remember the following:- After an update, you can't return to an earlier version of the game without restoring the last save from that version, this includes restoration of your gallery items, so if possible, label your backups and creations by version before updating.
- You should remove your script mods before updates to avoid failures during and after update.
- Any mods and tuning which are relevant to functions which will be updated are guaranteed to cause failures. For example if you have a party limit or destination mod, when new party features or destinations of any kind are added, your game will unquestionably fail after patching or expansion, so you can predict problems in this manner.
- If you encounter a severe failure such as clock freezing or frozen interactions which can't be reset, the game creates 5 automatic backups of your current save slot so you can easily rollback.
- It's best to completely exit without saving whenever there is a major failure however some problems can be eliminated by resetting of sims as a last resort.
Good luck to your sims and enjoy your game. - I noticed my game lagging on load screens to pull uo household since adding some CC to my game last night and didn't even put it together it was due to CC. Thanks.
I play on a Macbook as well, it has 8 GB Ram though i don't know on the graphics card. Bought it in 2015, about a week before the announcement of brand new macbooks lol because that's my luck.
Anyway, is there a particular limit of CC I should try to stay under? Or are there other tips to make it easier to load (like i have it all in folders, does it load better if I have them differently)?0 - I noticed my game lagging on load screens to pull uo household since adding some CC to my game last night and didn't even put it together it was due to CC. Hello @vintagesaturday .
Simmers have found that renaming cc files so that the names don't have special characters in the name such as dashes etc can help . Try renaming the files so as they only contain letters and numbers.

My Showcase thread https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/948861/rosemow-s-rooms-showcase - It's funny (not ha ha funny) when you find out a shirt or necklace makes your game crash or caused a bug in an area or feature that has nothing to do with the item you put in
- I've been thinking of updating my graphics card actually. I hear it helps tremendously, especially for filming
- I have tons of cc yet it only started to freeze during the 1000s and so on. (yes i do have that much)
